How to do your Hotbit taxes & integrate Hotbit with Accointing

Hotbit is a renowned crypto trading platform boasting over 1,000 crypto assets, the largest number of cryptocurrency projects. the platform has over $100 million in trading volume per day from its global users. one of the attractive features of Hotbit is its different makers and takers fees.

How does Hotbit tax reporting work?

Hotbit is a great crypto trading platform with lots of features. However, it falls short when it comes to tax reporting. Accointing offers a robust tax calculator and a Hotbit portfolio tracker that can help you analyze your trades. Use Accointing’s Hotbit tax calculator to determine the tax you owe and create a tax report as per your country’s required format.

To do this, you need to integrate your Hotbit account to Accointing and import your transactions history. Here is how you can do that:

  1. API – Allow Accointing to connect automatically to your Hotbit and auto-sync your data.
  2.  CSV – Download your transaction history from Hotbit and import it into Accointing.
  3. Accointing template – Fill out Accointing’s template and upload the data.

Integrate with Accointing via the Hotbit API

Hotbit doesn’t have an API but they’re currently working on their API integration feature. The only available method of integrating it with Accointing is through CSV upload. You’ll have to manually copy the transactions from their website on your profile and upload it into Accointing.

Integrate with Accointing via the Hotbit CSV/XLSX file

Downloading CSV files from Hotbit

If you don’t want to link your Hotbit account with Accointing using the API, you can also do so by importing a CSV file containing your history of trades, withdrawals, and deposits. Here is a simple step to go about it.

  1. Login to your Hotbit account.
  2. Click the Orders menu item in the top right corner.
  3. Choose the Order History tab.
  4. Specify your timeframe by selecting the data range.
  5. Click the export button to get your CSV file.

Importing CSV files into Accointing

  1. Login to your Accointing profile
  2. Hover over the Wallets menu and click on Add Wallet.
  3. Key in ‘Hotbit’ in the search input and select it from the list.
  4. Select the File import option and click Continue.
  5. Browse the CSV file downloaded earlier.
  6. Choose ‘All’ from the import from the dropdown to import all transactions.
  7. Click the Save button to complete the import.

How to review and track your Hotbit transactions in Accointing

  1. After completing the transactions import, go to your Accointing dashboard to see your Hotbit portfolio summary.
  2. Choose the applicable date range to begin the analysis of your Hotbit transaction history, gains, and losses.
  3. Click the different crypto assets on your portfolio to view and analyze the buy and sell dates. You can also choose multiple assets at the same time to compare the performance of selected dates.
  4. Monitor your Hotbit investment portfolio in real-time, including distribution and spread. Also, learn about the storage location of the different assets, whether in exchanges or wallets.

Common issues with importing transactions from Hotbit

Despite Hotbit being a robust crypto trading platform, it lacks the API integration feature hence users have to use the CSV import option. The type of data you can download through the CSV is also limited. For instance, your transaction history won't withdrawals and deposits but contains trade transactions and fees charged only.

Therefore, you can manually copy the withdrawal and deposit data from your profile and paste them into a CSV file. Alternatively, you can send an email to their support team requesting a complete file with deposits and withdrawals included.
